The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued utility patent 7,329,193 on February 12, 2008 recognizing eSwing’s unique opto-acoustic technology.
The opto (light) component of eSwing’s patented technology uses arrays of high power infrared LEDs to accurately measure swing tempo, club speed, and face angle at impact. Pulsing infrared LED’s and special optical filtering allow eSwing to distinguish between shadows and the club head passing over the sensors.
eSwing’s acoustic sensors (sound) capture club head swing path angle by using two high frequency ultrasonic sensors to accurately measure the distance that the club head passes in front of each of the two ultrasonic modules.
