Most solutions on the market today use laser, visible light-based, or expensive radar technologies. While these solutions make sense for their technical capabilities, they are generally expensive and the visible light solutions do not work well in environments outdoors with changing light, where most golfers prefer to practice. The traditional game of Golf is played outdoors which makes light-based solutions less useful and often completely inaccurate. Our combination of opto (infrared) - acoustic (ultrasonic) and high speed digital camera technologies solve this problem effectively while keeping costs below other solutions.
eSwing Golf Technologies was founded by Rick Plank, a former Naval Aviator with extensive experience using underwater acoustics to locate and target enemy submarines. He used this knowledge in eSwing’s design and development, creating a better way to measure swing path angle.
eSwing uses patented opto-acoustic sensing technology to track and measure both swing and shot. These sensors, embedded in our hardware, use light and sound as a feedback medium to give accurate data on virtually every aspect of both the club and ball’s motion. After each shot, this data is sent to our app, allowing players to immediately gain insight into which areas of their swing could use adjusting. All data captured by the device is also logged, making it possible for users to see how their swing is evolving over time.
Our solution for an accurate, affordable and reliable analysis system is a Swing Analyzer hardware platform, incorporating patented pulsing Infrared and ultrasonic technology to “see” the clubhead at impact during a golf swing. An integrated Launch Monitor, using high speed digital camera technology, captures an image of the golf ball as it flies off of the tee and past the camera. By eschewing visible light as the primary sensory medium, we are able to capture better data, faster, with a lower-cost capture unit indoors and outdoors.
The primary component of our technology, the eSwing Analyzer, uses patented sensing technology to
you feedback on swing tempo, club speed, face angle, and club head path angle at impact. Unlike many
similar pieces of technology, the eSwing analyzer works indoors and out, allowing for installation
both at driving ranges, or in the comfort of a private basement. Using bluetooth, the eSwing
easily connects with smartphones and tablets and also has a built in LCD screen to display shot
data. All shot data collected by the analyzer is uploaded to the cloud where it can be used to
track progress and shared with coaches and other golfers. The analyzer fits into a 16"x16”x10”
carrying case for easy transport and an optional battery pack can be purchased for outdoor use.

eSwing’s Launch Monitor is a photo-based system that accurately measures initial ball flight parameters including initial ball velocity, launch angle, and spin rate. With the Launch Monitor, club head Angle of Attack is also available. The Launch Monitor stores in the eSwing Analyzer’s carrying case.
If you don’t already have a stance mat, we’ve got you covered. Our custom made Stance Base will raise your feet to the same level as the shot analyzer and its turf covering will make you feel as though you are on the course. A grid is painted onto the top of the mat assisting in stance alignment, a frequent issue for both new and experienced golfers. If you’re planning on traveling, so you can easily take the Stance Base with you, we offer a sturdy carrying case to ensure that it arrives safely at your destination.
